Bob is the Managing Partner of CyberCurb, a California Attorney, and a co-founder of RIWI Corp. (TSX-V:RIWI), a privacy-compliant data collection and cybersecurity company. He is also a Senior Advisor at Endeavor which identifies and industrializes game changing digital identity technology for the US Government.
Bob has written has published the introductory book, Ransomware Risk Mitigation for the Board, The Simple Cybersecurity Dictionary, and the foremost bitcoin skeptic book, The Coinmen and speaks at investor, cybersecurity, money-laundering, regulatory and prosecution conferences throughout the world. He has advised Soft Trust Inc., a provider of secure encrypted communications; ArmorCode, an application security posture management and orchestration platform; Dasera, a database security solution; and MergeBase, a software composition analysis solution.
Bob is an advisor to the Cyber Future Foundation, an international collaboration of industry, public agencies and academia to build a more trusted and secure Internet. He advised AvidSecure, a multi-cloud intelligent security and compliance platform, which was purchased by Sophos in January 2019, and he also advised CipherTrace, a cryptocurrency compliance solution.
Bob was CEO of GDE Inc., an Internet advertising technology company, a Partner in Origin Strategy Ltd., an intellectual property strategy consulting company and Head of Strategy for Microsoft Network UK in London. Bob was a technical and regulatory expert for Cenerva (formerly InterConnect Communications) advising government and companies on telecommunications regulation and the Internet Domain Name System (DNS). Bob was CEO of Clera Inc., an age-related illness pharmaceutical company where his responsibilities included cybersecurity.
Bob previously practiced administrative and regulatory law with the now Norton Rose Fulbright, a full-service international law firm. He also served on the University of British Columbia Board of Governors.
He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc., Elec. Eng.) with Honours from the University of Toronto, a Master of Business Administration from EDHEC University in France, and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of British Columbia. Completed CISSP studies. Member, IAPP. He is a guest speaker at Ryerson University and has advised and spoken at meetings of the International Association of Prosecutors and the National Association of Attorneys General, published articles about cyber-security, technology and e-health in VentureBeat, The National Post, Healthcare Quarterly, The Canadian Medical Association Journal and The HuffPost. Bob is a citizen of the USA, Canada and Ireland.
